Reservations open March 28th, 2012

The Minnesota State Parks system has announced that starting Wednesday March 28th, reservations for arrival dates through July 21, 2012 can be made.

Once the system goes live, reservations can be made at mdnr.gov/reservations or by calling 866-857-2757 (TTY 952-936-4008).

Also, I have confirmed that as of today there are:

22 cabins/lodging spots available for Friday July 13th, 2012

22 cabins/lodging spots available for Saturday July 14th, 2012

124 campsites available for Saturday July 13th, 2012

121 campsites available for Saturday July 14th, 2012

Mark that date: Wednesday March 28th, 2012.  That’s the first day you can make your reservation.  I would recommend booking on that date if possible.

Still Down

The Minnesota State Parks Reservation system is still down.  But you can submit your email address on this page (http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/reserve-faq/index.html) if you would like to get updates.  I assume they will email you when the site is back up.  I’m on the mailing list and plan on emailing everyone I have emails for when I here the system is back up.  However being on the mailing list directly is probably a good idea.

Reservation System still down

The Minnesota State Park Reservation system is still not available.  They were offline for 3 months, and then got several thousand hits in the first hour (what a surprise!) of coming back online.  Guess what; the new system couldn’t handle it, so it’s still not available.  You can read their response here: http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/reserve-faq/index.html

The Plan So Far

The ceremony will be held at the Mississippi Headwaters on Saturday July 14th, 2012 at 4:00 PM. The reception will be held right after the ceremony, probably in or around Douglas Lodge. We will be making a weekend of it, and we invite you to as well! We’ll be arriving on Friday July 13th, 2012 and staying through Sunday July 15th, 2012. There are many accommodation options in Itasca State Park, including cabins, suites, and camping which can be reserved by way of one of the following links:

Suites and Regular Cabins:
